We want to maximise our most important resource, you.

We offer a wide range of training and development opportunities – as well as the chance to undertake post-qualification training. No matter your role or experience, you’ll find there’s room to develop and progress your career here.

As well as our high quality ASYE and Practice Development programmes, Bromley has a clearly defined progression pathway. Whether you aspire to be a manager or leader pursuing a specialism, we’ll support you as you continue to grow. Your career aspirations are central to our new ways of working, and we look forward to you achieving them with us.

Social Work Progression Pathway

Our clearly defined progression pathway starts from your ASYE year and will see you develop from an experienced social worker to a senior practitioner. You’ll then decide whether you want to progress to be an advanced practitioner specialist, or pursue your next role as a manager. Either way, our pathway can take you all the way to head of service. Underpinning each stage are functional activities linked to the job, core and mandatory training and academic modules.

Post-Qualification Training

We support our people to gain post-qualifying awards. It’s an opportunity for social workers to develop and reflect on their practice, gaining formal recognition of their training and learning.

Practice Education Professional Standards (PEPS) 1 and 2/teaching opportunities

We also encourage our experienced social workers to be actively involved in the development of students. As well as being a mentor to students, you’ll have the opportunity to teach at our partner universities, as well developing core modules.

You’ll also be guaranteed time for quality reflective supervision, which will help you develop both personally and professionally. We’re committed to retaining talent and encouraging ambition, so whatever your career goals, we’ll help you achieve them.
